    ఈ మధ్య ఒకానొక సహ ఉద్యోగి, ఒకానొక ప్రముఖ శెలవు రోజున "అనుకోకుండా నేను ఈ రోజు శెలవు" అని పొద్దున్నే ప్రకటించాడు. మాకు ఆ రోజు శెలవు లేదు. ఇది చూసి మిగితా వారందరూ ఒక్కొక్కరూ మెల్లిగా "నేను కూడా అనుకోకుండా శెలవు", అని ప్రకటించడం మొదలుపెట్టారు. ఇది చూసి నాకు కాలెజీలో జరిగిన ఒక చిన్న సరదా విషయం గుర్తొచ్చింది. 

    అది శంకర్ దాదా ఎం. బి. బి. ఎస్ విడుదల అయిన రోజులు. 

    అక్టోబర్ లేదా నవంబర్ లో -

    వరుసగా రెండు రోజులు నిద్ర లేకుండా కాలేజీలో ఇవ్వాల్సిన  రికార్డ్ చేస్తూ ఉన్నా. ఇచ్చిన ఆఖరి తేదీ కంటే ఒకరోజు ముందే పూర్తి చేసి కాలేజీలో ఇచ్చేశాను. నాతో పాటు కృష్ణ కూడా ఒక రోజు ముందే ఇచ్చేసింది. మాతో పాటు నౌషీన్, బిందు లతో కూడా ప్రోగ్రాం font, output లను అటూ ఇటు కాస్త మార్చి వాళ్ళతో కూడా ఇప్పించేశాం. 

    నాకు కృష్ణ తో గతం లో జరిగిన చిన్న చిన్న సరదా ఘట్టాలు చదవాలంటే college diary - 1 మరియు college diary - 2 ఓసారి చూసేయండి. 

    తిరిగి శంకర్ దాదా రోజులకి వస్తే... 

    రికార్డు ఇవ్వాల్సిన ఆఖరి రోజు -  క్లాసులో అందరూ ఆఖరి నిమిషం మార్పులు, వాటిని ప్రింట్లు తీయడంలో మునిగిపోయి ఉన్న రోజుకి నేను, నా మిత్రురాళ్ళ బృందం ముందే ఇచ్చేశాం అనే రోజున, 

    ఉదయం 7:30కి కృష్ణ కి ఫోన్ చేశాను. 

    అవి శ్రీమతి స్మ్రితి ఇరాని ఇంకా తులసీ విరానిగా ఉన్న రోజులు. అప్పట్లో మా దగ్గర మొబైల్స్ లేవు కాబట్టి, కాన్ ఫరన్స్ కాల్స్ కుదరని రోజులు. 

    "మొన్న రాత్రంతా మెళకువగా ఉన్నా కదా నిద్ర లేమి, కాలేజీ కి వెళ్ళట్లేదు", అని చెప్పాను. వెంటనే కృష్ణ, "నువ్వు లేనిదే నేను మాత్రం ఏం చేస్తాను, నేను కూడా వెళ్ళట్లేదు", అని చెప్పింది. 

    "భార్గవి రావట్లేదుట, కాబట్టి నేను కూడా రావట్లేదు" అని కృష్ణ నౌషీన్ కి ఫోన్ చేసి చెప్పింది. "మీ ఇద్దరూ లేనిదే నేను మాత్రం ఏం చేస్తాను, నేను కూడా వెళ్ళట్లేదు" అని నౌషీన్ చెప్పింది. 

    నౌషీన్ బిందు కి ఫోన్ చేసి, భార్గవి, కృష్ణ, నేను కాలేజీ కి వెళ్ళడం లేదు అని చెప్పగానే "మీ అందరూ లేనిదే నేను మాత్రం వెళ్ళి ఏం చేయను? నేను కూడా వెళ్ళను", అని బిందు చెప్పింది. 

    అలా మొత్తానికి నలుగురం నారీమణులం వెళ్ళలేదు. అందరం వెళ్ళడం లేదని తిరిగి ఫోన్లో తెలియగానే నాకో  అద్భుతమైన ఆలోచన వచ్చింది. శంకర్ దాదా M. B. B. S. .. కృష్ణ కి చెప్పాను. మళ్ళీ నౌషీన్ కి, బిందు కి వరస ఫోన్లు. నౌషీన్ కి తెలుగు అంతగా అర్థం కానట్టున్నా, ఈ సినిమా అంతకు ముందు హిందీ లో చుసినందున అంతగా ఇబ్బందేం లేదనుకుంది. సినిమా హాల్లో నౌషీన్ కోసం నేను తెలుగు నుంచి హిందీ కి అనువాదకారిణిని 😃. అన్నట్టు నా హిందీ ప్రస్థానం గురించి ఒకవేళ చదివి ఉండకపోయి ఉంటే ఓసారి చదివేయండి.

    అందరం సై అంటే సై అనుకున్నాక హడావిడిగా 11 గంటల ఆటకి హాలు కి చేరుకున్నాం. అదేంటో టికెట్లు చేతిలోకి రాగానే నిద్ర లేమి, బడలిక పోయినట్టుగా అనిపించింది. 

    మర్నాడు క్రితం రోజుకి గాను నిద్ర లేమి, అలుపు, ఒంట్లో బాలేదు అంటూ శెలవు పత్రాలు తీసుకోని డిపార్ట్ మెంట్ హెడ్ కి ఇచ్చాం. 

    మా డిపార్ట్ మెంట్ హెడ్ కి విషయం అర్థమయింది. 

    "అలా ఎలా అందరికీ ఒకేసారి ఒంట్లో బాలేదమ్మా" అని అడిగారు. మేము నలుగురం ఒకే స్వరంతో, "ఎందుకు కుదరదండీ, రెండు రోజులు రాత్రంతా కష్టపడి రికార్డులు రాశాం మరి, అందుకే మర్నాడు బాలేదు. పైగా ఒక రోజు ముందే ఇచ్చేశాం", అని ముక్త కంఠం తో చెప్పాం. అదేదో ఒక రోజు ముందే ఇచ్చేసి ఆయనకేదో ఉపకారం చేసినట్టు, లేక పెద్ద ఘనకార్యం చేసినట్టు.

    ఎప్పుడు ఎలాటి వంకలు పెట్టే అవకాశాలు పెద్దగా ఇవ్వలేదు కాబట్టి, ఓ నిట్టూర్పు తో ఏం చేసేది లేక మా శెలవు పత్రాలు చూశారు. "అమ్మ బిందూ, నీ శెలవు చీటీలో మీ నాన్న గారి సంతకం లేదు", అని అన్నారు. 

    "అయ్యో! మర్చిపోయా, ఒక్క నిమిషం", అని బిందు ఆ శెలవు పత్రం వెనక్కి తీసుకోని ఆ కాగితం ఆగ్నేయంలో, అంటే కుడి చివర్లో పెన్ను తో ఏదో అలికేసి తిరిగి వారి చేతిలో గుచ్చినట్టే అందించి, మారు మాట అడిగే అవకాశం ఇవ్వకుండా  తిరిగి చూడకుండా వచ్చేసింది😄. 

    ఇదంతా చదివి నా గతంలో ఇలాటి ఘట్టాలు చాలా ఉన్నాయనుకునేరు. ఏదో ఇలా చిన్న చిన్నవి ఒకటీ, అరా.. ఆ ఒకటీ ఇది. మిగిలిన అర ముక్క వచ్చేవారం.

    Recently one of the members in my team wanted an unplanned leave on a popular public holiday, as private companies don't get holiday for all popular holidays. Inspired by one, slowly rest others declared leave for some or the uplanned reasons😄. When I saw all declaring leave inspired by each other, I had small remembrance something similar and I am sure all of us would have had a similar situation at some point.  

    One year after Munna Bhai M.B.B.S release - October or November - 

   I worked overnight for 2 consecutive days towards the completion of record work submission in college and submitted one day ahead of the last day. Along with me, Krishna, my partner always, too is done with her submission on the same day. I have two more girls Nausheen and Bindu in the gang(, all in all a gang of four). I and Krishna executed our programs, with small changes in the output and the font and got them too submitted along with me and Krishna one day ahead.

    Back to one year after Munna Bhai M.B.B.S release.. 
   

     Last day of submission - I was sure rest all others in the class should be busy submitting the record work in the college and I along with my girl gang is already done with it. 
    

    7:30 AM, I called up my friend Krishna and said that I am sleep deprived and restless, I am taking leave today. Krishna said, "what would I do without you, so I am also taking leave". 
    

    Those were the days when Mrs. Smriti Irani was still Tulsi Virani. We do not have mobiles and no conference calls. 
    

    Krishna called another friend Nausheen and said she is on leave because Bhargavi is on leave. 
    "What would I do without you both, so I am also taking leave", Nausheen replied.

    Nausheen  called Bindu to inform that three of us are on leave and Bindu too said,
    "what would I do without you all, so I am also taking leave". Eventually entire girl gang took leave and then reverse calls followed... 
    

    Then, I had an idea......
   

    Those were the days when Shankar dada M.B.B,S, a Chiranjeevi movie (the Telugu version of Munnabhai M.B.B.S) was on theatres. I called up Krishna, if she likes the idea. Krishna was game and again chain of calls followed forward and backward. Nausheen is not so comfortable understanding the language, yet she too was fine to join us, as she has seen the Hindi version of the movie - Munnabhai M.B.B.S. I turned her Telugu translator for some dialogues in the movie 😃. If you haven't known about the my Hindi journey, please do read once.

    Done deal. 11AM was the show. We managed to get the tickets and the day was fruitful. As soon as we got the tickets we felt relieved from all restlessness.

  Next day in the college, we all four devis arrived with our leave letters signed from parents for the previous sleep deprived, restless and sick day and handed it over to our department head. 

    Department head clearly understood what were we upto. "How come all four of you devis fell sick on the same day?" We in chorus, "It's quite possible sir, we worked late hours to submit the records on time and now we are not due with any submissions too", as if this record submission nullifies our mass leave. Department head sighed and could not reply for this as he seem to have had faith in us that we are generally prompt with our work, yet he was pretty sure we were upto something the previous day. He then checked our letters, "Bindu, your letter does not have your parent's signature". 
Bindu, "Oh, sorry sir", she took back her letter, ironed it with her hands on his table, scribbled on the bottom right corner of the letter, gave him back the letter and returned back hurriedly without looking back at my department head, leaving him no chance of asking more questions 😄. 

    Please do not judge that I would have done lot of such things in the past; just one or a half of such, and this is that one. The rest of half will be published next week.
